Program Evaluation Services
Data Recognition Corporation provides guidance for districts in developing, maintaining, and improving instructional programs for English Language Learners (ELLs) in a manner that meets state and federal regulations. Our goal is to help each student make yearly progress on standardized evaluations and reach the highest possible levels of English language and academic proficiency as rapidly as possible. We know that districts large and small must use data to ensure that ELL programs are effective, since they are now held accountable for their language acquisition (Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives (AMAOs) and knowledge in academic content areas.
The question is, how can we help your students meet their language and academic requirements at the same time? The answer—we can work with your district or school to help you create a plan that is updated yearly to meet the academic and language acquisition needs of your English Language Learner population.
As we help your create this plan, we will ask your district to consider the following in order to help us evaluate programs and services for your ELL students.
- How does your district currently encourage ELLs to learn?
- How does your district accelerate ELL language development and ensure their equitable access to content learning?
- How does your district assess your students’ language learning?
- How does your district use the results of formative (ongoing) assessments of progress towards instructional goals) and/or summative testing? (Do you currently implement testing using a tool like LAS Links for these purposes?)
