preLAS - Minnesota's Approved preK screener for English Learner identification
According to the revisions made by Minnesota law makers concerning the screening of multilingual learners in preschool (statute 124D.59 (a)), language proficiency screening requirements now include 3-year-olds, students in ECSE, and those enrolled in School Readiness Plus programs.
preLAS, an MDE approved assessment for early learners in Minnesota, provides a valid and reliable screening of English language proficiency for ages 3 – 5.
